For several years we at Globalshop Inc. have worked closely with award winning artists and master printers to develop a customer loyalty program for our clients. Globalshop would create a gallery atmosphere for our clients by bringing in the original works of one of our artists and then giving away fully framed giclee quality reproduction prints of a selected original work.
During the planning of these events, Globalshop's Vice President, Mr. Brad Hotz, had the opportunity to work very closely with the artists. He became very close friends with one artist in particular, and one day, to his surprise, the artist came into our office and handed our VP a stunning 24" x 36" oil painting of a Nantucket scene as a gift. Normally the artist's works command gallery prices of up to $10,000. Needless to say our VP was deeply moved by the gesture but it wasn't until he looked into the painting that he realized what the artist had done. Inside the painting, the artist had cleverly and subtly painted a sign on a building that read, "Hotz Brothers Sail and Canvas".
Having three brothers of his own, Mr. Hotz was struck with a deep sense of pride when he saw his surname in the painting. Not only was it an incredible work of art, it now became a family heirloom that he will pass on to his children and their children's children. Soon after, Mr. Hotz had the work reproduced and gave a framed, full-sized reproduction to each of his brothers and his father as birthday gifts. If you could only see their faces when they saw the family name in the painting! It was through this experience that we decided to find a way to create a technology that would allow us to offer this to everyone at an affordable price.
